AT&T's singling out of the Slingplayer to restrict from 3G puts them in the position of trying to hold back the tides. They are on the wrong side of history.
Agreed......I would not use the mobile player on a WiFi connection. Sling loses, I lose, AT&T is happy.
Requires a service. Why can't people just make apps that stream the channels like the "France 24" app does? It's live tv of their 24 hour news station, it's free, and it works great over 3g..

Be sure to download Easy WiFi for AT&T. Converts a difficult to use, but already paid for, service into one's network of choice. As I'm still in my first month of iPhownership (heh - beat that!), I haven't tested WiFi out and about yet. But I'm pretty sure there wouldn't have been AT&T WiFi on that airport shuttle.
Taking my first trip since I got the iPhone this weekend. I'll be checking WiFi at airports and the hotel while I'm away.
No longer true. Found a button labeled "If you are having difficulty." Used it. Tested it with my Verizon GPRS connection and it is now visible from the Internet. Must go to Starbucks to test the iPhone Slingplayer. Plan to do that today. Will report before bedtime.........My Slingbox is still not visible from the Internet.
Requires a service.
The advantage of sling is that it is my server with my programming.
Their happiness will be short lived. Rather than trying to solve their capacity problems by arbitrary restrictions to use, they need to expand their capacity. Other carriers offer phones with Slingplayer and do not restrict them.........Sling loses, I lose, AT&T is happy.
There are two possibilities. One is that someone operates and pays for an Internet server/service called "France 24." Two is magic. What service? It requires nothing..
Does it work without wi-fi if you JB?
