Wireless connectivity seems less responsive, range smaller on my new iPhone 7 128gb and I'd like to see it has the new Intel chip installed.

To find out whether your iPhone has a Intel or a Qualcomm modem, just look at the model number at the back of your iPhone. If it reads Model A1660 and Model A1661, it means they have a Qualcomm modem. If it reads Model A1778 and Model A1784, then it is equipped with an Intel modem.

I think this is going to be like the chipgate between samsung and TSMC. People say there is a difference and get obsessive, but really there wont be any real noticeable difference at all.

Which is supposed to be better?

They're both tested by Apple and deemed fit for their iPhones. Theoretical differences are one thing, practical differences another.
And believe me if I say Apple would not have used both chips if they were inferior.
As you can see with the delayed AirPods, Apple takes quality very serious. The cellular chips would have not been an exception to this.

I have the A1778. So Intel modem. I find the phone snappy enough for me, actually faster than any other phone I had during browsing
