It does not make any difference these days anymore. All battery are good no matter how you charge it but I'd says once a week to let it drain.
    Unless someone else says otherwise

Welcome to iMore and congrats on your first iPhone! Apple's lithium batteries are pretty sophisticated and don't require any particular conditioning unless you're going to store your device for a long period of time. Go ahead and charge at your convenience!

Doesn't matter at all actually. You can charge your new iPhone as long as you want to have it juiced up. BTW, you should not let the battery drains down to be lower than 10% before recharging it, it does damage the battery.

"Otherwise" lol, nope -- actually you lessen the battery life by doing this, modern Li-Ion batteries are designed to be trickle charged and there is no calibration or "memory" effect as there was a decade ago with NiCD batteries

    Yes, 100% correct

Nope, no "damage" to the battery -- slightly more wear as far as charge cycles go but not damage

You don't have to let a phone's battery drain to zero before charging it. I charge my iPhone 6s every other day most of the time and it's usually anywhere between 40-something-20-something percent or so when I charge it.

Just charge when you want, but avoid low battery.

I use a sleep app at night, so it requires the phone to be connected to power all night or it will drain. Been using it for a year or more. Never seen any ill effects on the battery.

    Default First charge

Thx for the answer. I try not to make the same mistakes with my note 5 (which I charged all night long, charged everytime I'm driving, and at the end, my batt life damaged - 20% decreased in every 1 hour )

That could very well have been the phone. I do the same thing with mine and it never has done that.

Just as @robertk328 stated, charge your iPhone at your convenience. There's no reason to worry about percentages. If the battery is getting low, plug it in.

I typically charge to full unless I run out of time for some reason. Have never had an issue with battery doing this.
