The storage capacity has little to nothing to do with speed. The ram on both phones are the same. I guess as you run low on storage your device could slow down but I'm not sure. Speed wise out of the box they are the same

Well, yes and no. Storage capacity doesn't affect the RAM quantity, but the 7 has 2GB while the 7 Plus has 3GB.

Unless you meant the RAM speed?

To be honest I can't really see a massive difference between them.

That is because visually there is no massive difference between them. Basically antenna lines are gone, camera is different (a bit), and bottom of the phone is different. The differences are in function and internals.

Not in real life use, ok...but what about performing benchmarks? Bigger SSD are always faster than the same model smaller ones so with Nand it could happen the same.
