I just ordered a case from Amazon yesterday but didn't realize how much the camera lens sticks out until today. This is my first iphone so I am not sure if that is the norm. Anyways, I would like to find a case that will protect me if I sit the phone own on its back but I want the most minimum thickness that I can get.
Does anyone have any suggestion of one that they are using?
    Thank you for your time.

For a thin case that keeps the camera off the table, I suggest the Apple leather cases. They are thin, protective, and will keep your camera off the surface of the table. If you don't want to spend the money on an Apple leather case, an Apple silicone case will offer the same benefits, but it'll cost about $10 less than the leather cases.

    Hope this helps!

Might take a look at Caudabe as well. Or maybe Peel or Tozo. Or Spigen Liquid Air

Yes. Caudable are the thinnest you can get and still protect the camera. Also, the Torras ultra slim. I bit more protection and slightly better grip. Highly recommend.

I have the Spigen on mine, pretty thin but has a small ridge around the camera to protect it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...mUvbUpU2921169

I have a Torras on the way. Anxious to compare it to Peel, Tozo and Totallee Scarf. Also have a Caudabe Sheath on the way

I'm using the Ringke Slim case. Very slim, covers all edges, and has just enough of a lip to keep the camera clear of any flat surface. I have the black "SF". A soft touch finish that gives a very good grip.

+1 for the Totalle Scarf if uber protection is not what you're after.

Yes, not bargain basement shopping but the leather cases have great feel, good protection, and a nice benefit is they come on and off with ease so you can have the bare phone when appropriate. Edges of the silicone cases wear with same use long before the leather ones do.

One word of caution is the leather cases age and absorb oils and stuff. I've only liked the way black and brown look over time. Some don't like the look of the brown where edges get quite dark.

For 7 Plus I have one leather and one Speck that is very durable and much improved over earlier Speck cases. The Speck cases are not stupid fat anymore.

The Apple leather case is nice, but bulky.

That's relative. I've had the very thin skin-like cases and they really offer very little protection. The Apple cases are thinner than many offering or advertising as protective. I wear same brand of pant with a phone pocket and know instantly that difference if it's the Apple case, none or my Speck.

Caudabe Sheath. Really like this. Personally have similar cases from eBay that I like equally for price BUT Caudabe got the "red" much more right than the "cheapies" however I still wish it was ONE shade darker.

I meant it in the context of this thread. Thin cases that still provide camera protection. It's on the bulkier side.

That looks like a nice combo of thin, protective and aesthetics.

Yeah, not too bad. Not very grippy but not unbearable either. About as thick as camera hump on rear
