Is it true that an entire ?app? with a variety of options is launched when this code is entered? That?s what How-To Geek seems to indicate here.

I did this on a previous model and although it's really irrelevant information that is for most people easier to understand with dots it's still cool to see the numerical value
It doesn't seem to work on my iPhone, though I don't really care whether it's dots or somethings else..

The info found here is not actually meant for the user. It's mostly for the carrier, such as Verizon. It may be more relevant to them.
Yeah I actually work for a carrier so that was the original reason I had done this the first time but really it's just an way to make the phone different really
Yeah. The number vs dots thing is. But there's more data available other than that. Whatever this stuff is! Lol
