Apple Upgrade Program on Verizon.... $40 Smartphone Line Charge???

I am not under contract. So my current line charge (not data) is $20 per month. When I pre-ordered my 7+ using the Apple Upgrade Program, my confirmation page said that my Verizon Line Charge would be $40 a month. Why?

I used the apple upgrade program as well and it was only $15.00 but my provider is ATT.....

Sounds like a glitch to me. I would maybe call Verizon in the morning just to confirm. I don't think they have any plans with a $40 per line charge.

One thing I noticed is that Verizon is not asking for a return when I bought my phone off of the Apple Store. I think I may just keep paying it then keep it as a spare.

I'm trying to pre-order on Apple using the Apple upgrade program - but with new service on Verizon - I'm not an existing customer. Looks like I can't do that online, unless I'm missing something....
Can you do that online? Or do I need to go into the store?

You can start a new service online. I don't know about through the Apple Store but I know you can on the Verizon website.

I found that under the old Verizon plans it showed as 40.00. When I changed plans to the new Verizon 12 GB+2 (14 GB) it went back to 20.00. This may be a way to move people to a current plan or it might be an issue with not taking discounts. My employer grants a 20% line discount that wasn't reflected for keeping my current plan.. but it does properly calculate my discounts on the plan change.

80.00 for 14GB - 20%.. Not bad with no overages and the other new tid-bits. So 64.00 a month plus line charges. Not to bad .
