Contacts Search Problem

Greetings everyone!

I may be facing a common problem or might be a peculiar one. I can search any contact under spotlight search by swiping left, no issues there. But when i go into contacts app and start searching, i end up getting No Results. I can see all contacts around 895 of them. Can anyone shed some light here and help me through? I am on latest IOS(10.1.1) which was updated when it was released and noticed this issue today.

How are you "swiping left" to search via Spotlight in iOS 10? Are you able to swipe downward on the home screen to reveal the Spotlight Search feature? Anyway, you can try resetting all settings to see if that helps.
