    Hey.

I'm visiting the states soon and I'm thinking of buying an iPhone out right from the Apple store as it works out a little cheaper as if i was to buy it in the UK.

If purchase a UK GSM unlocked iPhone.. will it be ok to place a UK sim in and use on the chosen 3G and 4G network?

    Thanks.

Only if the bands are compatible!
Refer yourself to this link: http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

From what I can see, the A1688 model would work (it appears to be the same model number).

I find this website quite handy for figuring out if a particular phone will work on a particular network: WillMyPhoneWork.net - Check if your phone works on a network
