I would like to keep an application on my iPhone 6s from closing

iPhone 6s, I would like to open an application and lock it open running in the background. Can I keep an application from closing ? Thank You

Welcome to iMore! You can't regulate when an app runs in the background. It will do so as needed. Just leave it open in multitasking. That's all you can do.
