Why is it taking my new iPhone 6s over a day to restore from iCloud?

I got sent a new iPhone 6s as I broke my other one and I'm trying to restore all my stuff back onto is at it is setting up and it has been stuck at less than a minute to go for over 24 hours. I decided to stop the restore and try again and it has now been stuck at 'about 12 minutes' remaining for 6 hours!!!! How can I fix this without losing all my stuff???

Are you restoring from an iCloud backup via Wi-Fi or mobile data?
