3D touch and Gaming
Initially, I was really underwhelmed by 3D touch. Everything demoed in the apple video looked like it could have been achieved by a long press and other gestures, although not as fast as it would be with 3D touch.
But then I started thinking about its potential in gaming and I really think that could be where it's most useful.
Shooters have always been frustrating on a mobile device as it was difficult to move, aim and shoot at the same time - 3D touch solves that problem - move with the left virtual stick, aim with the right virtual stick and shoot by pressing down on the screen (3D touch). That should feel so much more natural and will give more control and precision.
I'm sure there will be other ideas that can be implemented in the different gaming genres as well.
Of course, all of this depends on just how accurate and fast the 3D touch response is.
What do you guys think?
