Why don't text messages send while I'm on phone call?

Text messages do not send while I'm on phone call

When I'm on a call (iPhone 6) I am unable to send text messages. The messages try to send but fail. Settings issue?

Welcome to iMore! Are you referring to text messages or iMessages? What carrier are you using? The ability to talk and text (i.e. SMS, iMessage) depends on your service and the settings on your device.
For example, I'm on Verizon and as long as I have an LTE signal I can talk and text simultaneously without issue. However, if I'm in an area without LTE I lose that ability. I also have Voice & Data over LTE enabled in Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options.

It's possible that your carrier does not support simultaneous talk and text. Call them up and make an inquiry.
