why is my iphone6 sending a text alert?

when I have the text message alert for my i watch turned on my iPhone 6 is not making a sound for text messages. Can I not get an an alert on both devices?

Like my 4 Apple devices that are all linked to sync so what happens on one happens on all except:
When someone sends you a text that will trigger an alert as example once you make it known what device you are going to answer from then ALL alerts will more or less stop snd only get it from the device you are using, I am referring to only the audible alert. You can also turn off or mute the sound on the device you don't want to hear.
