If you hold the two buttons in long enough, the phone will do a hard reboot. Which is good if you're getting some odd behaviors.

Aside from this, you can also use third-party application such as Barry or Skitch but note that they can only capture webpages. And if you want a detailed discussion about the ways to capture screenshot in iPhone 6, then here’s a post that might help you.

Make screenshot: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and then click the Home button. The screen will flash white, you'll hear the camera shutter sound, and the screenshot will be saved to your All Photos album.

Record screen: You can use QuickTime player to record iPhone screen, free and easy, no need jailbreak.
    1. Plug in iPhone to computer, launch QuickTime and select menu File->New Movie Recording.
    2. On the right of the red circle record button on the video preview screen is a reversed ^ icon. Click on it for a drop down menu allowing you to choose the iPhone as video source. That's all. To get better quality video like 4K or HD video, I'd recommend Acethinker iPhone Screen Recorder.
