my iphone6 keeps indicating awaiting activation on facetime

I have just bought my new iphone6 and want to use facetime. when i go to facetime on the screen settings it says awaiting activation

You need to activate your FaceTime using your Apple ID.
Goto setting FaceTime and switch FaceTime option on then enter your Apple ID or activate using your phone number. For more information
