Bluetooth - can't pair MacBook and iPhone 6

Tried to pair my iPhone 6, updated iOS, eita my MacBook running Yosemite and got this:

It's in portuguese, ir says: Connection failed "MacBook de Luis" is not compatible. Forget Device.

How can a MacBook not be compatible with an iPhone 6???

Did the same some time ago with my iPhone 4, it worked.

I've had the same issue with a MacBook Pro retina and 6 Plus.

There were software updates to iOS and OS X today so hopefully this issue has been resolved.

What are you trying to do that requires them to be paired? Handoff and continuity don't require you to go thru the pairing process.

That was only the reason I tried to pair them until I realized they didn't need to be.

Don't I need to pair them to access the Internet through my phone 4G when away from Wi-Fi?

No. Assuming you can create a hotspot on your phone, you can connect the Mac t that and it doesn't require pairing.

Your bluetooth doesn't need to be on on either device to connect via hotspot...
