Why is my lost camera roll in my albums?

Photo question re Camera Roll -

So - they say Camera Roll is gone so how come it appears in my Albums? I sent myself an email with an attachment of a photo I want in an album and it appears on the Camera Roll but I can't move it to another album...need some advice please.

"Camera Roll" is now titled "All Photos" as of iOS 8.1

You might have an album you made already named "Camera Roll" on your phone.

To move the picture to another album, you have to have an custom album created. To do this, push the "+" button and name it. Then it will ask you to select photos to add to the new album you created. There you go, the new photo is in your album!

You might have an album you made already named "Camera Roll" on your phone.

It's All Photos if you have iCloud Photo Library on. It's Camera Roll if not. Mine is Camera Roll.
