Shock resistant from bumps?

Sometimes i read people say they dropped their new phone, but thanks to the case the phone looks flawless. But dont you think they forget about that it is the internal electronics in the device that most likely get the worst beating, even from a minor bump, or how shock resistant is an iphone?

Im sure something gets bumped around from time to time which could possibly make something get out of whack on the inside, which is why its always good to have some insurance whether its AppleCare or something else.

True.. Maybe i should get AppleCare after all. Im using the Apple leather case, but i dont think it offer any shock absorbing at all. Its just stylish and protects from scratches. Apple Silicone case should offer a LOT more shock absorbing protection though.
