Is anyone having problems accessing the Camera from Lock Screen?

I normally get to the camera by sliding up the camera icon on the lock screen. Lately sliding up on the phone icon doesnt work. Has anybody else had this issue? It happens about once a day.

Has worked fine for me. That said, I did have the video camera freeze on me about 10 seconds in to a video. Really upsetting because I was recording my daughter play music and missed most of it. I hate iOS 8.

Do a quick reboot and see if the issue still occurs.

The success of mine is hit or miss. I have tried rebooting, hard reset, etc. I am running iOS 8.0. This is my second replacement phone, and it has been this way for me on each one. Not sure the reason.

This is an iOS 8 issue. I've had trouble sometimes swiping up control center and the camera from the lock screen.

I did have some issues with that working properly on the 6. Of course it's a software issue.

Just tested about 10 times. Worked fine on my Verizon 5s. When I swipe up from the middle I get the control center and when I swipe up from the camera icon I get the camera.

It works just fine on my iPhone 6.

Yes I have issues sometimes. The little icon is tucked too far in the right corner and the touch area to activate it is too small. For a screen so large it needs to be bigger or not nearly completely up against the bezel like it is now.

Both my wife and I have experienced this bug on our 6's . . . But it went away after a reset.

This definitely sounds like a software bug, but other than that iOS 8 hasn't given me any issues.

I could swipe those things up 20 times Ina row without a problem. But when I really need one of them, they won't swipe up. It's random.

I use it quite a bit. It's one of my favorite features

Try putting your thumb on the camera icon for two seconds before swiping up it never fails for me

I have this problem too on my iPhone 6 from time to time.

The camera icon had disappeared from my lock screen on iPhone 5C but rebooting the device brought it back. I find this shortcut quite handy and it helps me capture unique moments.

The easiest thing besides unlocking the device for this damn bug is to swipe right for the passcode then go back to the lock screen and the camera swipe up thing will work. As well as Control Center.
