I am just curious what apps can you use that take advantage of the iphone 6 healthkit? I like the steps counter, but was wondering if there is a certain app I should be using?

My Fitness Pal and Lifesum may be good ones. But did they get HealthKit up and running? It had problems and they pulled all the compatible apps from the App Store. I haven't heard if they fixed that bug. And now iOS 8.0.1 was stopped due to problems. I think it had the fix for HealthKit.

You may be right. I'm not sure actually. I know the health app on the phone tracks my steps, but it's not the best for tracking so I was trying to find an alternative.

If you track with your device then it won't change if you use another app because all apps and also the health app use the same sensor. If you want other results then use a different sensor, e.g. the nike fuelband

I'm using a Fuelband and also my iPhone 6+ all day and during sport, but they measure different things, for example the Health App says I walked about 7500steps and the Fuelband says about 9800 steps

During this week I will run about 8km, I will mark the route in Google Maps, run it and then compare the results of the 2 Apps and report here

There is also a Nike Fuel area but the Healthkit error is not solved, so I cant import the data from Nike to the health app
The fules are somehow random, I still don't know how they count, but it'S still interesting and motivates me to move (more)

The problem with either-or is that the instrumentation is ages old. Pick up the band and flick it couple times and you will have 10 steps recorded :p

Ok, I marked the route in Google Maps and it shows 8km. Google says I need 1:40 min, but I ran it in exactly 40min

I used an route tracking app and guess what it says the same, the route was 8km.

I did a workout which was about 1 hour and then ran the route, so don't be confused because of the results of the Health app and Nike Fuelband.
I wore the Nike Fuelband all the time on my left wrist and my iPhone 6+ all the time on my left arm.

As you can see in the screenshots the Fuelband says I did 13.644 steps, burnt 1.220 calories and earned 4.340 Nike fuels

The Health app says I did 14.747 steps and walked&ran 14.14km

I think they just use different values for one step and it's almost the same, so both work well.
I hope that helps anyone
