Either way - Apple does support upgrades and will check eligibility. I've done it on both and upgrading works fine both ways. Ordered my iPhone 4 on AT&T and iPhone 5 from Apple. Going to try Apple first for this one...

But is the shipping free on Apple? because AT&T have a promotion right now for free overnight shipping.. don't know if Apple does the same thing

Shipping is free over $50 or something. So, yes. But you won't get it before 9.19.2014, no matter where you pre-order.

Can you confirm the T-Mobile version is unlocked for use on US carriers? Also, how well does the Plus fit in a front pocket on say athletic shorts?
