Where is the sapphire glass?

Apple is using something new I noticed, called "Ion Strengthened Glass". Maybe hat's what MKBHD had when he got one of the display panels!

Who cares? They could use glass from recycled Yugos for all I care as long as the durability and finish is as good or better than what we had on the 5S.

Exactly. All the saphire that Apple was procuring was for the watch all along. They probably never intended to use it for the phone.

That makes sense. Watch are subjects to easily scratch than phones.

I wondered this too. Saw all kinds of articles about the glass being a big thing and did not hear much about it. I did notice them mention it when talking about the watch. The screen is a piece of sapphire? I think
