Calendar Alerts Not Working

My calendar alerts used to work when I scheduled an appointment before this God awful IOS 9 update. Now, it will not let me set my alert time when I schedule an appointment. Is any one else having this trouble or is it just my iPhone 6 Plus?!?!? I've done a reset, checked my settings, researched online about it and nothing to fix it.
Does anyone know how to fix this because, I really need this fixed.

No. I set up appointments of some kind almost daily and the associated alerts works without a problem. Try resetting all settings and then reconfigure the account associated with the calendar and/or make sure the notifications/alert settings are set correctly.

Are you saying the option to set an alert time is not there? You said it won't let you. What happens?
