Microphones??

At first I was thinking a software issue, but the usual restore, setup as new and all that didn't fix it so maybe hardware. So now, are there two microphones in this thing? I can talk just fine on the phone. Went to record a video and no sound. Siri, nothing; voice to text, nothing again. It's frustrating because I used Siri to imitate phone calls all the time. I also like to send voice messages and a workout challenge group requires videos submissions once a week. What was a minor annoyance has now become a pretty big problem.

Time for a GenuisBar visit... Replicate the issue...they'll take it from there.

Only one microphone on it. It's a hardware issue. Pretty sure you'll instantly get a replacement with Keith's suggestion.

I would go to the Genius Bar, if it were closer. Driving over an hour for just a phone kills me. Not that I haven't before.

You can do warranty phone swaps by phone and mail/UPS/FedEx...

Yup. Apple practically wants to just give you a replacement.

Co worker had the exact same issue. Phone works fine but no audio when recording a video.
Apple replaced it under warranty.

I'll send it in...I always end up replacing my iPhone once under warranty.
