I had a MessagePad 100 for the LONGEST time. A couple of years ago I picked up an eMate 300 on eBay for like... $40 or something. Cute little thing.

My son thought it was the coolest thing ever (he's 6) until I got him an iPad. Now it sits in his toy box collecting dust.

I love my eMates, but it's those darn hinges. I've had 2, and the first one broke, and took out the display cable and the 2nd one's hinges snapped but the display cable is still intact, and it's cheaper to just buy another one at this point. And my MessagePad came with a prototype battery that can't hod a charge anymore, and I lost the little dongle to connect it to my computer, so I'm stuck paying upwards of $200 to get it working again, or if I can find my old bondi blue iMac, I can just use the IR port to install packages.
