Hey guys, I want your feedback before I do this trade.

Story: I purchased an iPhone 6 (64 GB) and really want the iPhone 6 +. I posted an ad on Craigslist and someone had replied to my post. They want to trade my iPhone 6 (64 GB) for his iPhone 6 + (64 GB) and an additional $200 on top.

What are your thoughts on this offer? Should I accept?

Please let me know and of course, I appreciate your feedback! Thanks

Wait. This person wants to trade his plus and he wants to also include $200 or he wants you to trade your 6 and you pay $200???

He wants me to trade my 6 and I get his 6 + and pay an additional $200.

He has a 6 + (64 GB) and I have a 6 (64 GB).

Additional $200 for the same 64GB model just because it is the Plus? Nah, that's way to much. Offer him $110 more and if he wants to.
If not, sell it on eBay, I am sure it'll sell, and buy a 6 Plus yourself and brand new.

Id just keep the 6 cause it's better in my opinion. But if you can afford the 200.00 and you like the plus better then you pretty much can answer that question yourself

It does sound way too much.

It sounds like a lot more, but if you have the money and don't want to wait until November, go for it. I would entertain the idea of it. I would try to get him closer to $100. Maybe $125 $150.

Someone also told me the same thing. I said no, sorry! The most I'll give is $100 because that's a fair trade. I turned it down quickly. They're trying to rip people off for a few bucks when it's suppose to be a fair exchange. What makes it worse is that his was opened.

Just return your phone to Apple. Don't mess around with some possibly shifty Craigslist huckster.

PeltFrelken is right. Just no. Return it to Apple and swap it out and pay the difference to get a legit sealed boxed one. It's a total no-brainer. Anything else is just stupidity personified.

It is indeed way too much. You can buy a 6+ 128GB with what you are going to end up paying. Don't fall for it, try eBay first, if it doesn't sell return it to the Apple Store or exchange it if they have a 6+ in stock.

Not necessarily. If you don't want to wait however long the phone is back ordered this may be worth it. Some people are worth paying extra to not have to wait. Look at crackberry Kevin. He paid someone $500 for his spot in line.

I honestly, till this date, don't understand why is people willing to pay $500 for a device that is still in production and will eventually be in stock in 1-2 months or in their doorstep in 3-4 weeks. First world problems man. I just came back from Germany and decided to pass by the Apple Store in Frankfurt and man, line of over 200 people still. I only had two days before flying back so I decided to take a trip around the city instead of waiting for a phone, I am not criticizing in any way, that's just my opinion.

I would offer him the trade plus $160. You have to be willing to pay a little over retail because it is backordered. Or you can return and wait for a plus.

Thanks for the input, guys! I went with my instincts and declined the offer. If I want a 6+, I'll just go ahead and return my 6 to the apple store and order the 6+, no biggie! By the way, what is the return policy? (14-21 days?)

Yep, just order online and wait or keep checking inventory each night. I wouldn't pay a premium for it. The shortage isn't as bad as some others in past.
