How do I delete individual messages within a text conversation on the iPhone 5s?

i am heaving trouble deleting individual messages within a text conversation on iphpne5s

occasionally when i have pushed on a thought bubble and than pushed the more option, it has not come up with the delete 2 messages or 10 or whatever the amount as the trash can does not show up

Have you tried a reboot? Did you recently get a new phone and do a restore?

Restart the Messages app or the iPhone
