iphone 5s imap idle

Good afternoon,

I've just bought an iPhone 5S to replace my trusty HP Pre3. All good so far, but it seems the built-in mail app cannot do imap idle and fifteen minute polling is useless when I need to receive system alerts. Is there an third-party mail app which can do idle?

Did you try turning push on? If you have gmail just download the gmail app.

First of all Welcome to iMore Steve

Go to Settings>Notification Center>Mail and make sure push is on

If your using gmail there's a little more to it

The Pre3 is an awesome phone I never had the pleasure to use one

I'm using my own mail server and it seems I cannot do IMAP idle with anything other than gmail. This makes the phone useless as a business tool so it has gone on to ebay I'm afraid.
