It seems like ever since I upgraded to iOS 9.2 Touch ID takes half a second longer to register than it did before

Works great on my 6s Plus. Oddly, I don't use it to open the phone. I only use it for iTunes and apps.

It works as long as there isn't any other substance on my finger like water.

I have my left thumb print registered but a lot of times I am reaching for my phone with my right hand. I should probably change which print is registered. Other than that, it is a very cool feature that I like quite a bit. I love being able to authorize payment with my thumb

You can have both registered. I have mine set up like that for the same reason you are stating.

I have 4 fingers registered. Both thumbs and both index.

Go to Settings -> Touch ID & Passcode

I have five registered, both thumbs, both index and a pinky in case I have grease or whatever on my hands and need to unlock it.

My big pro tip for having TouchID work well is when you register your fingers. I see most people lift their finger when they see the animated fingerprint stop animating. Instead, wait until you feel the vibration before you lift your finger off for another go. That alone will make your registration more reliable, and in turn, your use of TouchID!

I just got my new iPhone 5s second hand after losing my old 5s and the touch ID doesn't work at all... I can't even add a fingerprint as it goes straight to this error message Click image for larger version.

Maybe because you have "low power" on. Go to Settings > Battery > Toggle low power off. See if that works.

How's your Touch ID experience been so far? Working flawlessly? Occasional glitch or problem? Or not working at all?
Touch ID usually works 1/15-30 times for me, I have retrained it multiple times, but it usually doesn't work. A while ago I got my index finger to work every time, but now none of them work.

Default Is Touch ID working well for you?

It's weird to read of people being less successful with Touch ID. I've had a lot of iPhones and iPads and Touch ID has always worked. I always train both my thumbs, index fingers, and right pinky and it typically works just fine.

When training does everyone wait until the device vibrates?

Touch ID is working great. But as brought up on another thread, there's an issue with it not available in the early morning. Several are getting a message to Enter the passcode for the Touch ID. This is similar to the 48 hour thing. But otherwise, it works great.

Touch ID has always worked great on all my Apple devices that feature it.

@ Haalcyon....why the right pinky. My right pinky is used strictly for sticking it out during afternoon tea. LOL

I registered my left thumb and right index finger. No issues with that at all. Both work flawlessly to open the phone and in other uses as well.
