Available Storage on 16GB Model

I noticed at the at&t store that the 16Gb model only had 6.6 Gb of storage left. I can't imagine there was enough time for the staff to download many apps as it was Saturday morning not long after the 5s was made available.

What have you seen?

It's hard to say some of the demo units have special Ipsw for display purposes and that could effect it. I think on a stalk phone it is like 13.3 free

when i picked up my 5s it had 12.9g available and it only had the basic apps.

When looking at in-store demo units you have to look at the capacity of the device which is the total amount of storage minus formating, the operating system and built-in software and or applications. The available space left only calculates the unused space whether there is third party software installed on it or not.


Example: 64GB 5S Capacity = 56.7GB total user storage/Available = 13.4GB after the installation of third party software.
