Mine is out for delivery! It's pretty impressive that it was in Korea this time yesterday and it made it all the way here with no delays.

Both of the new iPhone 5s's that I ordered (5 and 7 minutes after they went on sale on 9/20) are on the UPS truck for delivery, today! UPS is notoriously slow in my neighborhood, so I'll probably not be unboxing until 8 or 9pm, tonight.

Austin, TX, United States 09/25/2013 8:04 A.M. Out For Delivery
09/25/2013 6:43 A.M. Arrival Scan
09/25/2013 6:10 A.M. Departure Scan
09/25/2013 5:54 A.M. Arrival Scan

It was a lot of fun hanging out here with my new iPhone's travelling buddies' owners!

That's precisely my point. You all know darn well we are going to run out and get iphone 6, so Apple Care isn't worth it IMO. I'm sure there are other benefits as well but Apple has some reasonable replacement prices at the Apple Store, even if it is your fault (ie, you drop it in the toilet).

What do you do with your "old" iPhone when upgrading? Having AppleCare+ can increase the resale value ... I would not purchase AC+ just for that reason, but it might be a deciding factor for some if they’re "on the fence".

Apple has also increased the device swap out of warranty (either by age or for physical damage) to $269...

I sell on Craigslist. I usually get $400 for the 16 GB of last years version. I had to bump up to the 32 GB this year because of taking so many pics and videos of my kids.

Studies show extended warranties are not worth it in the long run. As long as you never buy them, you come out ahead.

It’s clearly a personal choice. I am not advocating either way... simply answered a question and (now) responding to comments. :)

Congrats man! How did you activate it? Just turn it on? Or plug it into iTunes?

I just turned it on, agreed to a few items, and it activated automatically. It asked me to verify my phone number is correct and that was it. I turned my old iphone 5 off and this one is now working as normal.

My husband just texted me a photo of mine. He placed it on my desk to await my arrival. The UPS guy was going to leave it between the front and screen door, and he was sitting in the living room so he just went and got it from him. Once I get it all inspected, activated, protected and ready for use, I'll pack up my 4S for Gazelle.
