Hello people!

So, my Nexus 5 suddenly died this week and I need a replacement phone which won't cost more than 200 euros. Is iPhone 5C still a considerable as decent phone? How is it with iOS 10?

If you can spare ?20-30 more, go for the 5S instead.
My 5S was really amazing with iOS 10 but I doubt the 5c will be as snappy.

I will ask my brother about it, his kids both have one, not sure if they updated yet, but if they did I will find out how it is on their phones. :). Give me a few hours up to a day or so to find out.

I think the 5c is still is a decent phone. If you're looking for an older iPhone I'd recommend the 5s. I have iOS 10 on my 5s and it's running smoothly.

Ok I texted my brother and he will ask his kids. (They might be with the mother this weekend, I'm not sure)

PS Maybe I'll try to reach out to the 13 year old directly. :)

I would like to, but price difference between used 5C and 5S is about 50-70 euros, brand new - 100 euros. Not sure about options ordering from eBay or Amazon since I live at Eastern Europe.

My wife uses the 5c and loves it. I can't get her to upgrade. She doesn't care about the newer features and options. She's had it about 2? years and the battery is still good at 93% health. I would be concerned it doesn't have 64 bit. Many games and other apps require 64 bit. Other than that, it's a nice phone.

Can you tell me which apps specifically require that? I don't play games on mobile and I am just using social apps + whatsapp and calling in general.

Mostly the high powered games. There may be a few other types of apps, but you'll be OK with what you do. And it could be also that some games just work better with the 64 bit chip.

Ok thanks. One more question - is it worth to buy brand new or just buy a used one and live with that?

I doubt you would find any brand new 5c iPhones. Used will be OK if the battery is in good shape. Make sure everything works, including the home and power buttons.

It's still more than fast enough I have no problems with it other than a few iOS 10 hiccups that started three days after installing iOS 10. Make sure you don't get the 8 GB version of the 5C because that's just about enough for the software and nothing else,so get the 16 minimum. I have 45 apps on my 5C and before installing iOS 10 I had 1.5 GB free. IOS 10 compresses everything pretty well I now I have close to 4 free gigabytes which is amazing!

I like my 2 yr old white 5c over the 5s I downgraded with for the following reasons:

1. More comfy to hold without a case
2. Camera has better color saturation although not as good in low light
3. Speaker sounds better and louder on the 5c as I think the plastic case reverberates the sound better

If you're getting a 5c, get a 32GB one.

Good luck.
