how do i fix my stuck off/on button on my iPhone 5c?

Took it to a store today and the guy said it's got corroded port... it's also not charging after leaving it on the charger for 2 days...he did try a charger there... didn't do anything....

apparently, I have no options, as i'm not eligible for an upgrade until January.... no insurance.

Take it to Apple they will replace it for a fee given its a 5c they prob will charge like 199
