my iphone 5c has a black screen and i cant get it to reset by holding the home and power buttons?

i put it in my pocket after texting and i got it back out to check the time to see that the screen was black and unresponsive i've tried everything i can think of and holding the home and power buttons won't reset it but it still vibrates while on the charger. i have no access to itunes

I would take it to an Apple store and have them look at it.
