Trouble updating 5c to ios 8

I've downloaded the iOS 8 firmware for a model iPhone 5,4. When I plug the iPhone into iTunes, it says it's an iPhone 5,3. I can't find firmware for an iPhone 5,4. Every site that has IOS downloads says that the iPhone 5c is model number 5,4. iTunes always says that I can't update because the firmware I have is incompatible.

Look on the back for the model number of your device... it's in really tiny print - then look for the download corresponding to the model number...
