iPhone 5 touch component has stopped working, how can I fix it?

iphone 5 touch component has stopped working

while using my iphone 5 the screen started blinking and showing white squares and in an instant the screen was not responding to touch.
1. Is there a way to repair it myself?
2. is there a way to take out the memory component from my iphone and install in it another working one?
