why iphone 5 won't charge after drained?

my iphone 5 won't charge after it drained,when i plug in,it just show the battery and show the apple logo and turn off the screen then keep repeating the step and just won't charge,how to fix this?thanks in advance and sorry for weak english

how long are you keeping the iphone on charge? normal have to leave it on for it to gain a decent battery try leaving it on for an hour or so

Welcome to iMore! Have you tried using a different charger?
Keep in mind, Apple's iPhone batteries are designed to retain 80% of their original capacity for 500 full charge cycles. After that you're on borrowed time. It's possible your battery is simply past its useful life. If that's the case you can replace the phone or replace the battery.

My old iPhone 5 sometimes drains down where it takes over an hour just to start showing and start charging. The 5 is an old phone now. The batteries don't last forever. Yours is probably gone or about gone. You're going to need a new battery or new phone.

That is if your phones actually affected by this. In which case if you do think it is then type the serial number then and find out if not then youll have to buy a new one.
