my i phone 5 is showing numbers when receiving calls and massages?

i bought an i phone 5 from japan and using in sri lanka. even though i import contacts from sim and email, when receiving calls and massages. only the numbers are being showed instead of names. further i saved the contacts to i cloud also. can i get a solution for this issue.
