why is my iPhone 5 refusing to turn on?

just a couple of days ago I was using my iPhone 5 and suddenly it restarted and the apple logo came on. It was out of the blue and confusing but I didn't think much of it until it did it again; but this time it didn't come back on. I pressed the power button and the apple logo showed for a minute but then goes straight onto a black screen? I've even tried to restart it by pressing the home button and power to restart it but still all I got was a black screen afterwards?

You could try to restore it via the PC with iTunes, that could help.
