My iPhone 5 is not charging and showing an error, what should I do?

iPhone 5 not charging error shows

iPhone 5 not charging error shows "Accessory may not be supported" Original apple cable being used (Bought from Apple) any ideas what may cause this? and would a charging port change make a difference?

Is the cable still in good condition? I had problems and turned out to be dust etc in the port, this collects over time being in pockets etc.
Try compressed air into he port or a visit to the genius bar and 2min of their time and hopefully it will all work ok!
