Why am I able to restore my iPhone with the Apple ID password?

Not letting me restore iphone with apple ID password

Hi,
I am trying to erase content & settings on my iphone 5.
It is asking for my apple ID password but when i type it in and submit, it doesnt accept it. I have tried my password for my old apple ID account but nothing seems to be working.
