iphone 5... NO SIM , Sim not recognised. AFTER REPAIR. HELP NEEDED!!

Hi All,

Normally get great advise / help from imore so have turned to you guys again.

I have re housed an iphone 5 as it was smashed up. I have done these often enough but never come across this problem.

After the repair the phone powers on but i cannot get the phone to recognise a sim! iv tried a few new sims new sim tray and nothing will change it. What could this possibly be??? Ive checked there is no small bits inside the sim reader that is clear. no water damage... running out of things it could possibly be!! could it potentially be a loose connector somewhere or are none of the connectors linked to the sim tray?? its also on the setup page so i cant update the phone or anything until a sim is installed.

Any help on this would be much appreciated as always!!

Well if it was smashed up like you said who knows what the problem could be

Smashed up as in smashed screen and scratched housing etc. Not literally smashed to pieces... But thanks for the help...
