Does the invert color feature have any affect on battery consumption?

No it doesn't affect battery life. The only thing that does when it comes to display is brightness level.

That was some news.

As far as I have discovered the invert color is for persons with sight difficulty and it just make things look as negative images.

But thanks anyway.

You are correct - invert colours are for people with sight difficulty. However - you may link it to triple home button press, and at night toggle it when browsing the web or reading a book - it'll act like a night mode, and reading will be much more comfortable with dark background, in compare to the white one.
