I can give you better battery life if you're in an area where connection changes pretty often...if you're in a solid LTE network, turning off LTE will not make a very noticeable difference.

I'm in Albuquerque, NM and get spotty LTE coverage which I attribute to my phone hanging/freezing a couple of times a day. Turning LTE off fixes this problem. However, I'm impress at the LTE speeds when I do get a good connection, much faster than wifi. LTE coverage will probably improve in the future. I'm on T-mobile by the way.

LTE is still a growing tech...especially in Tmobiles case, they are slowly but surely getting their LTE network together, and within the next couple of years, you'll find LTE just as wide spread and stable as 3G/4G has been for a while now.

I mentioned this in another thread but figured ill mention it here too. Telus sent our a carrier update to the iPhone 5 and I noticed my phone holds a LTE signal better, and the LTE in my region seems stronger. Don't know if this has anything to do with the update
