Wi-fi question

I just came from a 4S to a 5, and I have a question about wi-fi. I am on wi-fi at home, but when I leave home and then return, the phone will not show the wi-fi symbol until I actually do some kind of action with the phone. In other words, if I return home and lay the phone on a table for a couple of hours, it will not be showing wi-fi, until I do some kind of action with the phone. Is this a symptom of the wi-fi bug, or is it normal? I never had this to happen on my 4S.

That’s normal. No Wi-Fi when the phone is in sleep mode.

It was quite likely happening on your 4S - you just didn't notice it... I happens on my 4S all the time.

I was just concerned because I could return home with my 4S, and it would be back on my network before I even got out of the car.

It would apply whenever your phone goes to sleep. As you know, the threshold for allowing your device to go to sleep mode is configurable in the settings menu.
