Extended.....?

Anyone ever seen the word "Extended" where your carrier should be? What is this?

If you're a Verizon customer, it means you're not on a native verizon tower - but it's not costing you anything... unless you're near the Canada border, and picking up a Canadian provider...

I am a Sprint customer is the Northern Ca area. Never noticed it before at my work. Oh well, thanks for the info!!

Similar situation with Sprint... it means you're on a non-Sprint network, and should not be costing you anything.

usually extended on the sprint network means you are roaming on a verizon tower. they have voice roaming agreements with each other. happens all the time on my work iphone also on sprint.

On sprint this happens to me. Happened on my previous 4S and now on my 5. No biggie.

Yeah it should only be with Sprint, but no roaming charges should accumulate from it.
