Thank you sweet! I have the ip4 now and use a jailbreak app called my ring and was hoping the ip5 caught up in that area.
Thanks

Oh no I'm sorry I have the iP5 and I haven't jailbreaking my phone yet. I'm just gonna wait a year to do it.

Actually I don't want to jb the ip5 if it has the feature I asked about. The only reason I jb my 4 is because I could not set my music for notifications.

I remember that I used Handcent on my Nexus S 4G to get my music as notifications.

There is a way to make the music in your iTunes library into ringtones or text tones. Kind of a complicated process but you can do it. I made a bunch when I had my i4. Just google it

Hi, can the ip5 be set to play my songs from iTunes for calls and text messages? Thank you for any help.

You can, but you have to create ringtones from the files before you can do it.

Here's a link describing the steps - it’s a pretty easy/straight-forward process.
How to Make My iTunes Songs into Ringtones for My iPhone | Tech Tips - Salon.com

Ringtones should be no more than 30-35 seconds... To create text tones, follow the exact same process, but the max length should be 5 seconds or so.
