    Default in iphone keyboard, where is the DEL key to remove the next character ?

    I don't mean the backspace key which remocves the previous letter.

    Also how would you get the cursor to the middle character of a word ?

    whenever i touch the screen on a word, it either points to the first or last letter of that word.

    Don't know about a delete key but to navigate to a middle of a word just hold your finger on the screen until a magnifying glass appears on screen then move to desired location for editing. Here's a screenshot.

    No Delete key. Only backspace.

    Apple doesn't "do" Delete keys. Even macs with the Apple keyboard don't have one. Although it is supported in the software if you are using a keyboard that has a Delete key (fn + backspace also works on an Apple keyboard). I'm guessing that iOS is the same in that if you are using an external keyboard then Delete would be supported.
