iphone 5 first month sales

Hi,

I have been trying to find information on the amount of iphone 5 units that were sold in the first month. Seems like apple has neglected to disclose this datapoint, as I can't find it anyway, even in the earnings release. Reason is, I made a friendly bet with my brother in law that Apple would surpass 20 million units of the iphone 5 in the first month ... he didn't think so and I have a feeling they crushed that. Winning prize is wings and beer at Hooters on the loser. Thanks!

You're not likely going to find anything more than was made public in the event this week or the earnings call.

It outsold the 4S's first month sales in 3 days, so i think it's pretty safe to say it exceeded that number.

I read 27 million iPhones in Q3 but I believe that was all iPhones, not just the 5.

That was all iPhone's sold...but if you go into it, i believe they gave a % on the iPhone 5, but i don't think they ever officially put a number out there. Someone who gives a crap to do the math could tell you the exacts, but I'm guessing it was easily over 20 million.
